Will everyone be in the kingdom of God?

Good News

No, not everyone. Jesus spoke of the weeping and anguish of those who see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the prophets in the kingdom of God, but won’t be allowed to have part in it themselves (Luke 13:28). The way to the kingdom is described as a ‘narrow gate’, and not everyone will pass through it (Luke 13: 23-26). When Jesus returns there will be a judgement (2 Timothy 4:1, Matthew 25:31-46, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Act 17:31). But Jesus says that provided we are truly seeking the kingdom of God, then it will be God’s good pleasure to give it to us (Luke 12:31-32).

be even more diligent to make your calling and election sure… for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:11).
