“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven…”
The Good News is that Jesus Christ is going to return to the Earth.
And when he returns he will raise the dead and give eternal life to the faithful. (Acts 1:11; Acts 3:19-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Daniel 12:2; Acts 17:31; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54; John 5:26-29; 2 Timothy 4:1 )
Jesus will be King over the Kingdom of God on Earth, bringing righteousness and everlasting peace worldwide. (Luke 1:32; Isaiah 9:6-7; Isaiah 2:2-3; Daniel 7:13-14; Daniel 2:44; Revelation 11:15, Revelation 20:4; Matthew 19:28; Micah 4:1-7; Revelation 2:26; 5:9-10)
What the Kingdom of God means to me…
It gives me hope…
“My family and I have been through really challenging times over the last few years. God’s promise of his kingdom gives me hope for the future, something exciting to look forward to. I know that all the difficulties and trials will be as nothing compared to the joy of his kingdom.”
Favourite verse: Revelation 21:4.
I feel passionately about our planet…
“I love our planet. I love the countryside, the mountains, the wildlife… I hate the terrible things that I see that man is doing sometimes. The good news about the kingdom of God is that God cares for this planet too. He hasn’t abandoned it, he won’t let mankind destroy it. And one day we will see it restored as God intended.”
Favourite verses: Revelation 11:18, Romans 8:21, Isaiah 35.
It gives me peace and joy now…
“The hope of the kingdom gives me direction in my day-to-day life, as I try to live now as a citizen of God’s kingdom. It gives me a sense of peace, knowing that God is in control of the world and our lives, so I don’t need to worry about anything, and great comfort and joy when I think of the privileged position we have as children of God.”
Favourite verses: Matthew 6:33-34, Col. 1:12-13, 1 John 3:1-2.
