Children always enjoy being challenged to defeat the giant Goliath.

No slings, this time they knocked off his head using a bean-bag and listened to him cry out!

The Bible account of how David defeated Goliath is a great encouragement to us all. It shows us how God can work with the weak to sometimes defeat the mighty (1 Corinthians 1:27). This is what God did for us, in defeating sin and death through the crucifixion of Jesus – a weak and shameful death but which achieved such great things. Compare the defeat of Goliath with what Jesus will again do when he returns to the earth – look at the prophecy in Daniel 2:31-35, 44-45.

Some of us visited Holland to see a full size replica of Noah’s ark.

Noah's Ark

The Lord Jesus compared the days we live in now to the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37-39,44). Just as the ark saved Noah and his family, we also can be saved in Jesus and given the hope of a new start in a new world (1 Peter 3:20,21, 2 Peter 3:12,13).
