Bible Reading Notes—Step 5: Weeks 11–26

These notes are for use with the Bible Reading Planner, a convenient way of planning your daily reading.

The plan will give you a chapter to read every day for a year, giving you an overview of the whole Bible and its message.

Step 5

We start Step 5 with readings from the second gospel, that of Mark. Having four gospel accounts allows us to reflect on different aspects of Jesus’ life and teaching. It is often very helpful to compare the different gospel accounts of a single event. If we find an aspect of Jesus’ teaching difficult to understand, sometimes looking at a different gospel, or another part of the Bible, can help to answer our questions. Some Bibles have “marginal references”, which can be very helpful in providing links to other Bible passages.

If you have any questions or comments you are always welcome to send us an email. You would also be very welcome to come along to one of our Reading Groups.

More advanced readers may wish to follow the Bible Companion Planner which will take you through the whole Bible in a year.
